Carling Academy anybody?
Following on from the showcase at The Point in early September, we have been asked to play another showcase for the same people but this time in the Carling Academy London.
If we thought the last show was a big deal, this is a MEGA big deal. We're damn excited to be playing a venue of such calibre and we'd love you to join us.
Sunday 23/11/08. I know it's a Sunday night, but we've asked to go on earlyish so that you can get back home by a reasonable time. We're currently looking into the coach situation and will post a bulletin once we have details.

Video ready!
You're right in thinking that this video has taken longer to finish than Indiana Jones (through no fault of Charlie), but the important thing is IT'S HERE!!!
Go to the Media section to see the first ever Milano promo video for 'A Thousand Days'
Not for nothing, it has received over 600 hits in just 3 weeks.

A catch up...
Well it has been a while eh? Apologies for the lack of updates since May. This hasn't been down to laziness. Internet connections, server outages etc are the reasons but we won't bore you with that, seeing as there are many more exciting things to tell...
We've gigged quite a lot over the course of the summer, many of which in places we've never been to before. Some gigs were great (Gloucester, Farnborough), some outstanding (The Point, Water Rats, more later), others - meh.
So, we got this email through myspace offering us a showcase gig in The Point, Cardiff for the beginning of September. The Point for us was a milestone gig, much the same as Barfly was a year ago. We played out of our skins in front of around 80 of our own supporters and about 250 supporters from other bands. If you were there THANK YOU - the reaction you gave after each song was unbelievable.
The Water Rats gig that we had down for the 5th got moved to the 13th for a number of reasons I won't bother going into. The bus picked everyone up at 10.30am outside the Millenium Stadium and the adventure began. It turned out that 78 people turned out to see us play (32 on coach, 46 in London), more than doubling the amount of supporters any of the other acts brought in. Not bad for bottom of the bill eh? We have a stupid amount of pictures from the day which we will upload sometime soon - if you were there and you have pics of your own that you'd like to share, please post them on the forum.
It seems everyone who came on the coach had a good time and there is demand to organise another trip. Watch this space...

Milano @ The Water Rats, Kings Cross London
Uh-hu, uh-hu. Milano have been offered a gig at the Water Rats in Kings Cross London on Saturday 6th September . This will be the most high profile gig Milano will have played to date and WE WANT YOU THERE! We will be booking a coach of around 40-50 people capacity and we REALLY want you all there. It will be up and down in one day and shouldn't cost people any more than around £12-£15.00 per head. This event will also double up for Dane Bowers' 22nd Birthday.
So kids, Whaddya say? Email or call us to get your name down for the bus asap.

Friday's Gig @ The Loaded Dog - CANCELLED
What more information can I give you than what the title suggests? NONE. That's the answer. Why has it been cancelled? One band were unreachable and the other pulled out. Say what you like about Milano, but don't call us unreliable. Or "braaa" - Will particularly hates that.
The Gig WILL be rescheduled at some point in the future but we're unsure as of when due to some very exciting gig news coming up...

Gallery
Finally, there's something there. Just one gig for the time being. It's a very time consuming process and there's only so much one can look at the same faces in one day (no matter how gorgeous they are). Keep checking for updates... Click 'Gallery' to see.

Cardiff Barfly and London gigs added
Yes that's right, add them to your calender, Milano will be headlining the Cardiff Barfly on Friday 18th July . Then a couple of weeks later, we're at the Fiddler's Elbow in Kentish Town London on 2nd August which is a Saturday night. We need as many of you as possible to attend either or ideally both dates, so if you fancy a trip to London Town or fancy a Cardiff night out let us know, download the flyers and we'll see you there. Click here for flyers.
Last time we played Barfly we were told that we had the most people attending on a flyer deal for a long time - the thing is now, we HAVE to beat the last attendance figures, so do us proud! As an added incentive, Andrew will be giving free kisses and gropes to all the pretty ladies (only the pretty ones, i.e. Milano-babes) and Dan will look after the more masculine creatures among you in the Barfly toilets (i.e. Milano-boys).

Vote for Milano in the Intel Studio Unsigned competition
We have submitted a track for a competition that will hopefully get us another gig in London along with some other things. We're generally not too bothered about competitions/battle of the band type things but this one would be quite funny if we got anywhere as we've unintentionally slated a number of the judges in our profile text - "Milano don't wear tight jeans. Milano aren't another mod clone band. Milano aren't cool, trendy, hip, in vogue, fashionable, hair/cock rock, sycophantic, generic, minimalist, readers of the NME." The judges are Carl Barratt, a guy who has produced Razorlight and an NME writer. Good going Andew.
Anyway, help us to get right up their noses by voting and commenting!
Click here and register, then search for Milano. You know the rest.
Cheers :)

Milano Update
It's been a while since we touched base with you all, so here's a quick update...
Barfly Cardiff Gig - probably the best gig we've ever played. We had a MASSIVE turn out, according to Barfly Cardiff, they haven't had so many people turn up to see a band on a flyer deal for a long long time so THANK YOU ALL! Those of you who were there will have heard a couple of new additions to our set, a new composition provisionally called 'Avert your eyes' and a cover of a classic 80's Gay pop song (we're not going to tell you WHICH gay 80's pop song - there were a lot of them... We'll be playing it for the next couple of gigs, come along...)
Good Ship, London Gig - It was a tiring day for us but it was well worth it. We were first on at 8pm so it's fair to say that there was plenty of dancing room... As the room filled up, the audience response was becoming greater and we ended with a flourish of flying sweat and screaming. We played well, connected well and walked away feeling like it was job done. A big hello and thank you to Gaz and Hazel - fantastic people and we look forward to seeing you plenty in the future.
A Thousand Days Video - Well... 95% of it has been shot now. We had an eye opening experience in Castle Coch woods - a big up to the CC Day Time Doggers, thanks for the directions and see you soon (you know where and when). We have one more bit to shoot and then it's down to Charlie to do his thang. We'll keep you updated...

Another London gig added
Well it seems Invention's loss has been London's gain, that's right - TWICE IN ONE MONTH. This time, it's at a venue called "The Loaded Dog" in Leytonstone E11. Go to the gig listings and all the details you need are there including a link to directions etc. If you're near there, please come along - we'd love the support. If you fancy travelling up with us, drop us an email.

Invention Studios, Bath POSTPONED
The title says it all really. We had an email recently saying that the gig has been postponed to someime in October. As soon as we have full details, we'll let you know.
In the meantime, keep an eye out for a dumptruck load of gigs to be added VERY SOON. These gigs should be far and wide. If there is anybody out there who would like us to play in their hometown, please contact us and we'll do our best.

10 ft Tall gig + website updates
Thank you to everyone who came out to see us on Tuesday night at Koko Gorillaz, which coincided with Will's birthday. We have played SO many gigs with zero appreciation from the organisers/management, this venue is completely set apart from the others - fantastic sound, great stage and BRILLIANT staff/management. Thank you.
A few people have pointed out some spelling mistakes on the biog page. These of course were purposely and cunningly placed for an intended competition in the future. Unfortunately the small number of people who have emailed to point the errors out have ruined he fun for everyone else.
There will be NO competition this time. Well done guys.

Barfly 05/04/08 Postponed
Not a great piece of news unfortunately - the headliner guy has done his hand in somehow and so the night has been postponed. Sorry to all you folks who made plans to come along to support us - we know that there were a lot of you actually planning to come. We are playing Koko Gorillaz in Cathays Friday 11/04/08 so please come and give us your love there instead.

We've added a music player to the front page and Media section. There will be 4 tracks online at any one time - tasters of the LP. They are non downloadable - so if you want them to play in your car, you're gonna have to buy one! :) Ahhhhh, unlucky...
