Band Biography
Milano formed in July 2006 following the demise of Sycophant, a 4 piece band which Andrew Morgan and Joe Stirland played in. Dan Bowers joined after replying to an advert online.
After playing 2 disasterous gigs under the name NARC in Tom's Bar (Pontypridd, S Wales), the name was discarded, the performances were erased from memory thanks to mind control techniques and JD. And so Milano was born.

In the following month, Milano recorded their first 5 songs with Tim Lewis (aka Thighpaulsandra). The recordings gave the band a huge amount of confidence after positive feedback was received from the people who heard the tracks and a last minute performance in the Whammy Bar confirmed that they could impress in a live situation also.
An intensive 2 month rehearsing period followed while confirming as many gigs post 1st March 2007 as possible. From this date on, Milano have performed non-stop throughout the South Wales circuit, earning themselves a strong reputation for their energetic and passionate performances.
Joe played his last gig with the band on 18th September 2007, after choosing to pursue a once in a lifetime career opportunity. Although gutted, finishing the band was not an option for Dan and Andrew and a lengthy audition proceess resulted in Will Purcell being the perfect choice.
With only 3 weeks to settle in, Milano played their first gig with Will at the Whammy Bar (coincidentally, almost a year to the day the band played there for the first time under the "Milano" name). The gig surpassed everyone's expectations, including that of the band. More gigs followed throughout November and December, all good practice for recording sessions that were pencilled in for January/February 2008.
Again recording with Tim, the band completed a further 5 songs and combined them with the previous sessions to create the 10 track 'System LP'.
